9 Mondays 6:15-7:15pm
JANUARY 23 – MARCH 19

Shift your understanding
& experience of “good” posture.

FROM: TO:
Static → Dynamic
“Ideal” Position → Readiness for Action
External Ideas → Internal Authority

Your organization in gravity improves not through trying to hold a position, but through learning to improve how you organize yourself in action.

______________________________________________________________________________

Moshe Feldenkrais on posture:
“From the dynamic point of view, every stable posture is one of a series of positions that constitute a movement…” “Posture is therefore describing action, and is a dynamic term.”

“… A tree that has grown upright will bend its top in whatever direction the wind is blowing. In the same way good upright posture is that from which a minimum muscular effort will move the body with equal ease in any desired direction.”

Learn to:
• improve posture
• reduce tension/pain/stress
• change habits of thinking/moving
• improve flexibility/balance/breathing
• increase curiosity/experimentation/reversibility

Cost for 9 week series: $140 by Jan 16, $160 after. $20 drop-in.

Discover Your Procrastination Solution

Explore the roots of your procrastination

Identify underlying purposes

Develop practical alternatives suited to you

Try out your new alternatives — in the workshop and in the time between meetings

In this unique workshop you’ll learn simple strategies to enable you to apply proven, pragmatic methods drawn from the instructor’s experience helping hundreds of people free themselves from procrastination.

You’ve done the time-management and the motivational classes, bought the self-help books, and gleaned the general-wisdom advice from friends, family, and others about setting goals and fighting procrastination. You still haven’t been able to change the frustrating habit of procrastination.

How Procrastination Works

People procrastinate over simple, mundane activities as well as activities that are challenging and deeply important. Procrastination is a worn-out habit that attempts to reduce some level of discomfort. This habit is partially successful — which accounts for its enduring yet frustrating nature. Procrastination is difficult to change on your own or even in the setting of time management classes, which usually fail to address the underlying meaning and purpose of procrastination.

About the Workshop

This unique workshop guides you in changing your procrastination habits while addressing their underlying purposes.

The workshop includes:

Informative lecture

Guided Imagery

Discussions and brainstorming

Small group work

Writing exercises

Optional journal writing

Coaching

Between-class application of what you are learning

Using the insights and information gained through these techniques, you will develop an individualized set of steps that you can follow during the week. What you do with these steps (whether you follow some, all, or even none of these steps) will form a valuable foundation for the next meeting.

With the instructor’s experienced assistance, you will be guided in designing for yourself a new and more effective way of accomplishing what you need and want, allowing more enjoyment and satisfaction in your life.

The Procrastination Solution picks you up where your time management classes drop you off.

What is Contemplative Dance?
It is a simple yet profound practice of moving meditation, also known as Authentic Movement. It works with the innate intelligence of the body, psyche and imagination, and their drive for wholeness and integration. We pay attention to the body and invite it to lead into movement or stillness, suspending self-criticism and cultivating awareness. We may move, or be moved, into deeper streams of consciousness. As we practice, the artificial boundaries between body, psyche and spirit begin to dissolve and we discover aspects of our selves and our lives from fresh perspectives. As we practice with others, we develop an appreciation for the diversity of human experience.

What does it look like?
It looks like human beings sensing, listening, being. There is no predictable style, no prescribed movement. It can include anything from complete stillness to vigorous movement through space. It is usually practiced with no musical accompaniment and with eyes inwardly focused to encourage inner attention, self-direction and a sense of privacy. Throughout there is a palpable sense of discovery and revelation, of the weight or lightness of being, of individual truths experienced and expressed.

Who is it for?
Adults of any age can practice Contemplative Dance. It requires no particular skill, training or facility in movement or dance. Rather it calls for curiosity, respect, honesty and some courage to face the unknown. It has applications in many fields, including health, education, religion, human relations and the arts. Contemplative Dance welcomes people of all races, religions, classes, ethnicities, genders, abilities and sexual orientations.

As a Spiritual Practice
It feels centering like meditation; intimate like prayer; meaningful and transformative like ritual. It heals the “split” between mind and body, spirit and matter. It brings insight into some of life’s core issues, and provides an opportunity to express and celebrate them.

As an Artistic Resource
Artists use this work to discover original material. It refines aesthetic perception and fosters greater precision, subtlety, concentration and variety. It helps to free creative blocks and renew creative desire.

As a Psychological Narrative
The personal history stored in the body becomes accessible for examination and dialogue, facilitating a more expanded, yet grounded, sense of self.

Can the workshops be used for professional development?

Yes, CEUs are available through the National Association of Social Workers and some counseling and psychotherapy associations. Please check with your professional association to see if NASW CEUs are applicable.

Learn a variety of Tantric techniques with Tantra Master Charles Muir and his Source School of Tantra Yoga instructors in our Beginners Weekend Seminar. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. There is no nudity in the seminar. The at-home Saturday night practice is optional.

Tantra: The Art of Conscious Loving seminars provide the education we never had and always needed in order to have wonderful, real and lasting love, and to rediscover the full potential of our sexual energy. “Rather than a “touchy-feely” course about sex, Tantra: The Art of Conscious Loving is a spiritual yet practical guide to being present and intimate with the most important person in your life. Sure there was a lot of discussion of sex, but only in the context of celebrating yourself, your partner, your love and of life itself…this should be required learning for all people.

Have you ever felt there must be something more to sexual loving? In just a few days, you will discover the ancient secrets of female and male sexual ecstasy.

You will learn to use sexual energy for increased intimacy, spiritual connection, pleasure, harmony and freedom. Turn sex into a relationship practice of healing energy, renewal and transformation.

Are you tired of chasing weak orgasms? Women can experience longer, deeper, faster and more powerful orgasms. Men can orgasm without tiring ejaculations. You can tap into an endless, spontaneous flow of creative, love energy.

In Ancient India, Tantric sex was taught as an art form that every conscious person must master. Now you can learn these ancient and proven skills translated as a 21st century art form and experience harmonious, joyful union.

No explicit sexual activity or nudity takes place in class; optional homeplay is assigned.

WHAT TO BRING:

Bed pillow for comfort and to be used as props for some of the exercises.

Your favorite personal refillable water bottle and/or insulated hot beverage mug, both with tight-fitting lids (if desired). This helps us tread more lightly on Mother Earth. However, we provide if needed.

In 1980, he originated the Tantra: The Art of Conscious LovingŽ format, Sacred Spot Massage, and many other inventive experiential exercises, which have become the cornerstones in the curriculum of most Tantra educators. In addition to Red Tantra practices, Charles teaches a powerful method of White Tantra, or Laya Yoga, which is the grandfather of Hatha Yoga, with extended holds, meditation, and chakra focus. Its gentle-on-the-body approach is relaxing and revitalizing, and awakens consciousness quickly.

Charles has authored two Tantra books, two Tantra Training DVDs, three White Tantra CDs, and five Red Tantra CDs. His work has been featured in over fifty media articles, numerous radio and television appearances (most recently on Oprah), and two Hollywood feature movies, Bliss and The Best Ever. He is currently working on several new books in his Tantra: The Art of Conscious Loving series; the newest is Sacred Sexual Awakenings, which is a comprehensive compilation of over five hundred testimonials and case histories of lives transformed through attending his seminars.
